Appen Google

Bland de förinstallerade apparna finns en som kort och gott heter 'Google'. För att vi ska kunna särskilja den appen från annat som bär Googles namn, så kallar jag den fortsättningsvis "The Google Main App" (GMA), ty den tycks vara en slags allomfattande installation med uppgift att förbättra användarupplevelsen. Appen är nedladdad över 5 miljarder gånger, så den lär finnas i varenda android-enhet. Här är listan på den appens behörigheter:

Med en brutal liknelse skulle jag beskriva den här Google-appen som en skenande centraldammsugare. Tänk dig ett hem med vakuum-uttag i varje rum, kopplat till en extremt stark centraldammsugare, som suger i sig i princip allt innehåll därhemma. Och det är du själv som öppnat ventilerna till detta system, genom att godkänna appens behörigheter. Ett exempel: När jag av misstag aktiverade GMA i min förra mobil, så får jag syn på en samling bilder som visade sig härröra från mottagna mms! GMA har alltså självsvåldigt gått igenom alla mina mms och lyft ut (kopierat) alla bilder och placerat dessa i GMA-appen. Och "naturligtvis" även vidarebefordrat dem till Googles högkvarter. Men visst, skärskådar man appens behörigheter så har jag "medgivit" detta.
